Connecticut: smooth, mild, and the easiest place to start

Connecticut is the lightest and creamiest of the wrappers. Expect notes of vanilla, toasted almond, light cedar, and a gentle peppery finish. It is mild to medium bodied, which makes it the friendliest choice for a new smoker or an early day cigar. If you are buying a gift and do not know the person's taste, a Connecticut is the safe, crowd pleasing pick. Try the LSU Connecticut or any school's Connecticut edition.

Habano: the balanced crowd pleaser

Habano sits in the medium bodied range with more spice and depth than Connecticut. Look for caramel, warm baking spice, cedar, and a touch of sweetness. It is rich enough to satisfy a regular smoker but approachable enough for someone stepping up from a Connecticut. Most of our collegiate boxes are offered in Habano for exactly this reason.

Corojo: bold and full flavored

Corojo brings a bolder, spicier profile with leather, black pepper, and earth. It is medium to full bodied and best suited to smokers who already know they like a stronger cigar. The Ole Miss Corojo and Syracuse Corojo are good examples.

Maduro and San Andres: dark, rich, and complex

Maduro wrappers, including the Mexican San Andres we use on several boxes, are dark and oily from extra fermentation. They deliver cocoa, espresso, cedar, and a natural sweetness. Sumatra: smooth, aromatic, and in between

Sumatra sits between Connecticut and Habano. It is smooth and aromatic with a medium body, mild spice, and a clean finish.
